Dear Prospective Tutor:

I, along with my staff, are thrilled that you have chosen to be a volunteer tutor with Children and Adults Developmental Agency Programs (CADAprograms). Volunteers provide an immeasurable resource, and are a vital part of our educational component. Providing students homework assistance through cheerful, wholesome lessons is crucial to helping students meet proficiency levels, and experience academic success.

We value your expertise, along with your wealth of knowledge gained from life experiences that can directly benefit our children. We expect our tutors to:

• Assist with reviewing classroom or curricula topics and assignments;
• Assist students with homework, projects, test preparation, research, and other academic tasks;
• Organize tutoring environment to promote productivity and learning;
• Provide feedback to students using positive reinforcement techniques to encourage, motivate, or build confidence in students;
• Collaborate with students, parents, teachers, school administrators, or counselors to determine student needs, and tract student progress;
• Teach students study skills, note-taking skills, and test-taking strategies; and
• Go the extra mile in meeting student’s needs!
